Hello dearest Kickstarter Backers 💛

I've been super busy figuring out BackerKit, prepping your Surveys, and putting together the Backerkit pre-order shop for the many folks that found our campaign after it ended.

LOGISTICS UPDATE

I have a meeting with Backerkit tomorrow to wrap up my final questions so that I can better assist you. 🙌🏽 Set up has been an extensive, arduous process, but so far so good. It's just taking time and there's a learning curve. 

A quick Update on Add-Ons no longer available: Song of the Grandmothers will no longer be available as an Add-On. The 28 of you that already added them are totally fine and all set on our end!! There were a couple that messaged me after the campaign, and I'm going to have to ask you that you purchase the deck directly from my website or from Kara's. Thank you so much!

Many of the Add-Ons in the campaign are also available on my website. If you want these items sooner, you're always welcome to order them there! We are about to run a four-day release of the Gentle Tarot First Edition pouch/book Bundle, an item normally not available online, along with a gift bundle. More about that in our upcoming newsletter. 

You are invited to join my Newsletter community if you haven't already! It's the #1 place for sales, freebies, and being in touch beyond social media. This is where we'll be announcing details of the upcoming sale. 

Campaign Surveys are scheduled to go out two weeks after the campaign has ended. At that time you will be able to add other Add-Ons if you like (I received lots of messages about this as well). Shipping will not be charged until I'm ready to fulfill everything, which will be closer to May/June 2025. I hope time between payments is helpful!

LIFE UPDATE

The photo below was taken on this date today, last year from my art studio in Alaska. The world was actually a rainbow. I've been missing home very much.

But the good news is that my partner and kitty will be joining me in Mexico City very soon. I may be receiving a second surgery and I'm thankful/excited to have the support of my little family. 💗

The ceremony this past Saturday is still filling my heart with joy. There is so much I could tell you about it, including things that happened leading up to it and after, but I will save that for the top-secret non-fiction book that I'm writing. 🤫 I am so incredibly thankful. And I'm actually on my way to our weekly, much much smaller ceremony, tonight. (So this Update may be shorter than usual!)

(Your girl is in the braids on the left...) 💛 This is a photo of my calpulli Tlahuiolin. The next photo shows the many other groups that joined us on Saturday. 200+ people total.

We were fortunate to have access to an archeological site where we honored Mayahuel and Ometochtli. This is an ancient temple dedicated to Mayahuel. I'll be writing and sharing more when the time is right. Just seeing these images now makes me smile and fills my chest with the warmth and energy I shared with everyone there that day. 

One thing that really touched me is that I learned that this annual ceremony was brought back into existence through the artistic vision of my friend Chicome Itzcuintli. He is also a tarot deck creator and created one of my favorites of all time, the Tarot Yohualli Ehecatl available on Etsy. (I have the hardcover version and highly recommend it!) The photos above show two members of our group embodying the deities that we honored that day. It was like nothing I had ever experienced. And the privilege of dancing on this sacred, ancient site with my calpulli is something I will cherish forever. 

It's been a beautiful, healing time reconnecting with my roots and ancestral practices. I really do need to thank my Patreon again because if it weren't for their monthly support, I would not be able to be here in Mexico now. 💗 And big thank you to those that have joined us in Patreon recently!

CREATIVE UPDATE

The next stage of my creative process entails laying out all finished and draft cards with empties in place for the new additional cards (mentioned in the last two Updates) and starting rough sketches!

I'll be hosting Patreon polls soon - these are available to even Free Patreon members! This will help me gauge interest of certain cards and listen to your feedback. Ultimately I will decide what feels right for the project, but in my experience it has been very exciting and fruitful to share the process with you one-on-one. Feedback and co-creation!! Something I did not have for the Gentle Tarot. I love it so much. And no worries if you're not in Patreon, I will be sharing results here afterwards. 🎉

I'm probably not going to shut up about the Brady Tarot Third Edition until we at least reach the $88,888 Stretch Goal of a limited edition black and white deck!! 🤯😍🫠 Let's get it!!!
